This right to vote is one that requires me to pay attention to my government, for a citizens time and attention to the government is necessary in order for a democracy to function properly. Furthermore, I make sure to obey the laws that the government has created. These laws play an important role in upholding the ideals that were stated in the Preamble of the United States Constitution. Finally, another important right that I oblige to as a United States citizen is paying my taxes.
